My name is Lynn. I qualified as a primary school teacher in 1999. I have worked in a number of primary schools in a variety of settings and with a wide range of abilities. I have undertaken many courses to enhance my skills and knowledge across the curriculum. The training I have received has helped me to develop a secure knowledge of all subjects. I am confident in the use of a wide range of teaching styles and am able to adapt my teaching to meet the needs of individual students.
I have a passion for teaching children. I find it very rewarding to see children grow in confidence whilst teaching them the skills they need to flourish and succeed. I feel that children should be given the opportunity to interact with others and work in groups as often as possible.
Several years ago, I volunteered at a slum school in Northern Delhi, India. Here I created an English curriculum for the students and helped to train other volunteers to teach effectively. This gave the students and the staff a structure to work from, which enabled them to achieve positive results.
In 2018, I left the classroom to travel around South East Asia. It is here that I started to teach online. When I returned to the United Kingdom, I decided to continue teaching this way and realised I enjoyed tutoring creative writing and grammar skills the most.
I now specialise in creative writing and grammar for students sitting their 7+ and 11+ exams. This is taught online in small groups of no more than 8 students, this enables me to give them the individual support they need in a stress free environment in the comfort of their own surroundings.
Learning online helps develop a child’s confidence and communication skills. This helps them gain the results they are working towards.
